Class description:
Create beautiful images of nature featuring the changing seasons. Students learn to use varying
forms of fusible glass, sheet glass, frit (crushed glass), glass stringers, glass noodles, and fusible
enamel. No two pieces are exactly alike. Students learn the basics of glass fusing and to cut, shape
and layer glass using hand tools. Prepared pieces will be fired in a kiln to fuse together the glass
components and embed metal hangers.
Ages: 16 and up
Class Duration: 2 hours
Max Class Size: 6 people (minimum of 3 to conduct the class)
*Finished art will be available for pick up 2-3 weeks following class
A few safety notes:
• Safety glasses are required. I will have them available to borrow or purchase. Feel free to bring your own.
• No sandals or open shoes, such as Maryjane styles.
• You may bring something to drink, water, coffee, or soft drinks, in closed containers.
• I recommend that you wear something that covers your legs at least to the knees.
• N95 masks required for application frit.
